Paper Doll Diary: how to play
Choose the doll before opening the diary
Four dolls at the start with different skin tones and hairstyles. The one you pick is the doll you dress for the story.
After the pick she lands on a pink card. Large hand and downward arrow show the next gesture — no separate Continue button.
Dress the doll for school
School labels the upper-right. Clothes, hair and shoes sit on open diary pages under the doll. Drag from the book onto her — a plain tap often does nothing.
Swipe the diary for more pages: Scout Girl, Little Doll, School, Paris. Worth flipping a few spreads before locking the outfit.
Green arrow lets you place her in the school scene. Finished scene saves as a diary entry, then New Story or Contest appear — it does not auto- start the next round.
Start a new Classroom story
New Story opens Classroom. Same drag-and-turn flow as School for clothes from the diary pages.
Some hair and clothes show diamond prices (70, 80); others show a video badge. Easy to miss when you are deciding what you can wear for free.
Pick a style, dress to match, then compare scores
Contest hides two outfit cards. Reveal them, pick a direction, then open the wardrobe. Our choice: black layered dress vs red glamour look.
We took Glamour; the red example stayed above the diary. Alternatives still exist on the pages, but several cost diamonds — free pieces may have to stand in.
Score screen: our red look 10 and 8 hearts, black look 9 and 7. Red led both rows and won the Contest.
Gestures that actually work
- Drag from diary to doll; tap alone often fails.
- Swipe sideways on the open book for the next spread.
- Setting name (School, Classroom) sits upper-right — check it before you build the look.
- Diamond number = price; video badge = another unlock path.
- Green arrow moves the finished outfit into the scene.
Story mode ties each outfit to a place, then makeup and a diary save. Contest reuses the same diary but shows an example look and scores against another player. Match the theme as close as free pieces allow, then read both heart rows at the end.
